Be nourished and resourced on an upcoming One Day Retreat February 15th in Indianola, WA – Water, Earth, and Sky: Grounding Ourselves through Nature.

January 2026
NOURISHED AND RESOURCED

Happy New Year, community. I hope you had a good end-of-year reset. I did my favorite thing over the holidays – a whole lot of nothing. Well, nothing I didn’t want to do anyway. There were a lot of walks, puzzles, eating, drinking coffee, obsessing with my 14 year old over the last episodes of Stranger Things, leaving my laptop unopened, and thoroughly enjoying a much needed break after finishing my first semester of grad school.

I am not much for New Year’s Resolutions, but I do like the practice of reflection during certain turning points – birthdays, the turning of a new year, and life-milestones. This New Year’s, I did do some looking back and recalled that it was almost exactly 1 year ago I had just submitted my application to PLU’s Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy Program. A brand new future began. This year, I also turned 50, got my oldest off to college, and traveled to Croatia with my youngest.

All of that looks pretty darn shiny – and it was – but the truth is, our family also faced a job loss, the stress and juggling of the primary home and kid caretaker (me) now being in school, and mental health challenges among other struggles (not to mention the daily stress of watching our democracy wobble). Life is never one thing – not all shiny, new, exciting, expansive, but also not all struggle, suffering, and constriction. There were plenty of both in 2025. If you had a mix of joys and sorrows in the last year, you are not alone.

I’m not setting off into 2026 with a list of things to accomplish or resolve. Instead, I am setting forth with a simple reminder to myself – that no matter what I am dealing with, I am nourished and resourced. I know this deeply. I am nourished and resourced by my family, by my friends, by my yoga, meditation, and movement practice, by nature. I am nourished and resourced by relationship with myself, by my growing self awareness, and I hold that I am nourished and resourced by the universe itself.

When these words came to me in an intention setting practice over the solstice, I felt a deep sense of peace and relief wash over me. I am nourished and resourced. Oh yeah. This has always been true. Sometimes I forget. And then, when I remember, it feels easy to choose to do the things that have me feel nourished and resourced – to go for a walk, to prepare a nourishing meal, to snuggle on the couch with my family and our cats, to lie on my yoga mat and breathe and move gently. All of those things are the things come easily when I remember that I am nourished and resourced.

Maybe there are different words or intentions that resonate for you, but instead of focusing on what there is to do in the new year, perhaps you might focus on how you want to feel, how you want to be?

Whatever that is for you, we are here to support you. Below you will see some new weekly and monthly offerings, as well as upcoming workshops that will certainly nourish you, that will leave you feeling deeply resourced. Your teachers and I hope to see you soon so we can keep supporting each other in the year ahead.

With care,
