Thanks to those that came out to help us celebrate 21 years of Source Yoga! I loved teaching with the resonant sounds of singing bowls and other instruments by Andrea Steele. Join her for a Fall Sound Journey on Friday, October 30th. Learn more here.
This summer marked 21 years since Source Yoga first opened its doors, birthing a dream of mine 5 years in the making to open a yoga studio and build a community. It hasn’t always been easy (easy wouldn’t be anyone’s description of running a small business), but I am often returned to gratitude – for the people, for teaching, for the connections and community that is so clearly evident in the walls of the studio, for the regular communications from community members of how meaningful Source is to them.
I think Source has become one of those “third spaces” you hear talked about – a place where community gathers outside of our home and work spaces. A space where we can explore who we are outside of identified “roles” we play in the defined places of our lives. My hope is that the liberatory practice of yoga supports all of us that enter this third space that Source Yoga is to become a more true, authentic version of ourselves and to show up for and with others.
I hope that you experience some of this freedom, peace, ease of mind, self-care, and the feeling of being cared for by a community when you are in the walls of our space (or joining us virtually!).
May we all be supported by community and have gratitude for community spaces that provide this opportunity to be ourselves fully.
With gratitude and care,
