Nourishing Ourselves Through Late Summer | Source Yoga

I hope you are taking moments to pause and take in the last days of summer. I can sense fall around the corner – the crispness of the mornings, the golden colors of plants in their final days of flourishing, the reds emerging from the tops of the trees and working its way down through the greenery. I won’t lie – I get really excited about the turn toward fall.

This year of course we continue to be bombarded with the difficulties of life during a pandemic, climate change and surging storms in other parts of the country, political strife, and difficulties within our own communities. This is not an easy time.

It’s important to pay attention. It’s important to make small and big differences where we can. It’s important to care for our community.

And it’s important to nourish ourselves. We weren’t designed to hold all of the pain in the world by ourselves. Paying attention to this right here is important, too. Paying attention to this breath. To our body sitting. To our heart aching. This too, is essential. Please keep nourishing yourself. Please keep resting.

And keep doing what you can, contributing to the world from love, compassion, and care. Let’s support each other to keep making a difference in the ways that we can.

We have lots of options – both in studio and online – to help nourish you late summer into the early fall.

We have been welcoming folks into the studio for a few small classes in both of our studios. We are being careful as we gather, and the folks that have felt comfortable joining us in person have really appreciated the opportunity to be together as safely and respectfully as we can. We also continue to offer a full schedule of online classes.

All our in studio classes are limited in size so we can have enough space for physical distancing, ventilation is increased, HEPA air filters are running, and masks are required for all. Your teachers (and a high percentage of our student community) are vaccinated.

Please note that because of class size limitations, we require pre registration for all classes. If you are registered for an in studio class and can’t make it, please cancel your registration as soon as possible to make space for another student. If you don’t cancel your registration and don’t show up for your in studio session, your class package will be deducted for the class.

We look forward to supporting you through this time with mindful movement, meditation, and breath practices. Hope to see you soon!
