To be Re-Sourced | Source Yoga

February 2025

Hi Source community,

I’ve been thinking about the ways we all make a difference in this world. We each have our roles to play and our strengths to bring. When things get chaotic in life, we might wonder what is it that we can do to help – a friend, a community, ourselves, a chaotic world.

A student told me today that Source Yoga is a re-source for so many. I laughed – I had never thought of the play on words of our name in that way. I came up with the name Source Yoga because I wanted to create a center that helps us return to our source – whether for you source is a spiritual center within yourself, a connection with something larger, or simply that place of steadiness that we can return to when we need it. I love thinking of us being a resource – as a way to return to source, our center, again and again.

Maybe then, when we find that deep place of connection to our center, we can each contribute to the world our unique gifts. We can then be a resource for others. A reminder that when we feel overwhelmed and depleted, we aren’t much of a resource for anyone. So when things are overwhelming, how can you come back to your center? Can we remind ourselves that it’s only when we our inner resources are nourished that we can reliably contribute our truest gifts. I love these words I came across recently –

“Instead of asking ‘Have I worked hard enough to deserve rest?’, I’ve started asking, ‘Have I rested enough to do my most loving, meaningful work?’. – Nicola Jane Hobbs

Right now is a time to keep coming back to our center, to nourish ourselves with rest and breath and movement and nature and community, so we can each do our most loving, meaningful work in the world. To be re-sourced so we can be a resource for others.

Let’s keep coming back to our center together. Hope to see you in the studio soon.
