Rest and Refuge

Does it feel like summer is passing you by? Things moving too fast? Are you trying hard to squeeze in all the activities in every sunny day that you can? Do you feel a bit scattered?

This is exactly why I love leading an August one day retreat each year. Summer gets so busy, and before I know it, it feels as if the whiff of fall is in the air, and I worry that I have missed it – the magic of our Pacific Northwest summer. This annual retreat I lead, just across the bridge on the Kitsap Peninsula, is the perfect way to feel grounded, to slow down enough to really appreciate the dreamy summer we are so fortunate to have here.

I still have some spots open for this day retreat – the perfect opportunity for you to rest, feel grounded, enjoy the lushness of summer in a beautiful forested setting, and care for yourself. Here is a little about your day of Rest and Refuge:

Join Erin Joosse in an exploration of mindfulness, movement, rest, and community in a restful day retreat in a beautiful and forested setting. Experience the refuge and restoration that a day in nature brings. Bring awareness to your body, breath, mind, and heart, and remind yourself of who you are. Through awareness, movement, and rest practices, we remember our true nature.

This one-day retreat will include movement practice (gentle, mindful yoga), meditation, talks, as well as deep rest. Find yourself at home in your body, mind and heart, be nurtured by nature in a beautiful setting (just 30 minutes from Tacoma), and learn practical ways to come back to your center that you can take with you into your life.

Your practice will be accompanied by live music – Andrea Steele will bring her crystal singing bowls to support our practice with a nourishing sound bath as we move our bodies and breathe.

All levels of practice are welcome. Please bring a journal and pack a nourishing lunch.
