Community Care Mindfulness Class – Donation Based with Allison Schuette
Fridays 6:30-7pm
April 17, May 1 & 15
Start or refresh your mindfulness practice. In these foundational sessions, experience lightly guided meditations to bring you out of rumination or worry and into the present moment. Discover your capacity to be with all that life offers, quiet and simply, moment by moment. No experience necessary.
Community Care Mindfulness takes as its inspiration the Community Care Yoga class (same Fridays from 5-6:15pm). While both sessions can be attended individually, they pair even better together!
As community classes, we are not charging—but requesting donations. Please make a small donation to the food bank, Eloise’s Cooking Pot, or bring a book for the little library.
Eloise’s Cooking Pot Food Bank provides quality food to the communities of East and South Tacoma, Washington. Ahndrea, our founder, was concerned about the children in these communities who were not eating on a regular basis due to their families experiencing economic hardship. Without government assistance, Ahndrea began delivering food to her tenants in this area. This is how the foundation for Eloise’s Cooking Pot Food Bank began. The food bank is named after Ahndrea’s grandmother Eloise. Eloise was a woman of humble means, but would generously share whatever food she had by providing a hot meal to anyone who was in need.

Allison believes we can wake up right now to rich, rewarding lives. Together, we can learn how to accept all of who we are—throwing no parts out—as we seek justice, community and joy.
In 2023, she earned her certification to teach mindfulness from Sounds True and UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center, then deepened her training through coursework in Nonviolent Communication and Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness. She brings 18 years as an educator and facilitator to mindfulness practice. Allison offers growth over progress, curiosity over criticism, and grace over judgment.
Through her business, Mindful Pause Center, Allison teaches and coaches, helping individuals and groups center care when encountering habits and patterns they’d like to transform.
