Strong Core and More: A YogAlign Introductory Workshop with Sandi Koch
Sunday July 26, 3-5pm
The core – the low back, pelvis and abdomen – is the body’s central organizing hub. From a YogAlign perspective, it acts as the structural bridge between the upper and lower body, supporting natural alignment, efficient movement, and sustainable posture. When the core is balanced front to back and top to bottom, the skeleton—not excess muscular effort—supports us in standing, moving, and breathing with ease.
In this afternoon introductory workshop, yoga teacher and massage therapist Sandi Koch guides you through YogAlign-informed yoga, functional movement, and breath practices designed to restore core balance and alignment. This workshop focuses on mindful lengthening, intelligent strengthening, and stacking the pelvis, ribcage, and spine to improve posture and reduce unnecessary strain—especially patterns that pull the body forward.
Flexibility is not required. Clear cues and accessible modifications allow each student to work safely and effectively.
You can expect to feel taller, more balanced, and more resilient—gaining practical tools to support posture, joint health, and ease of movement both on and off the mat.
