November Book Selection: Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer

Conversation guided by Rhea Goodrum

Even a wounded world is feeding us.

Even a wounded world holds us, giving us moments of wonder and joy.

I choose joy over despair…joy is what the earth gives me daily and I must return the gift.

–Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass

We invite you to join facilitator and Source teacher, Rhea Goodrum, for our fall Source Book Club offering: Braiding Sweetgrass, by Robin Wall Kimmerer.

As we transition into Autumn and the holidays, all the while continuing to navigate unpredictable events, we will together share insights and offerings from this beautiful, timely resource.

About the author, Robin Wall Kimmerer: A botanist and member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, she embraces the notion that plants and animals are our oldest teachers. She writes through the lens of the traditions and cultures of the indigenous peoples of North America, bringing these lenses of knowledge together to acknowledge and celebrate our reciprocal relationship with the living world.

Free, with donations benefitting Franklin Pierce Indigenous Cultural Club.

Access to Braiding Sweetgrass is available at your local library, your local bookseller, or available as an audiobook.
