This fall, Kirtan returns to the studio! Using simple, repetitive songs and chants, Kirtan can carry us effortlessly to a place of quiet. There will be Sanskrit songs from ancient India as well as English contemporaries. Come join in the community fun and profound gathered stillness! No singing experience necessary.
Introduction to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

Join us for this Introduction to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and learn how to better care for yourself! Based on the Stress Reduction Program created by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, we will explore:
- mindfulness meditation,
- mindful yoga appropriate for all
- the interplay of mind and body in relation to stress, and how stress reduction skills can be applied to your daily life.
Beginners are welcome; open to all levels. The required book is Full Catastrophe Living, by Jon Kabat-Zinn.
Sherry Williams is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance and practices law in Tacoma. She has had additional training through the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, and she teaches MBSR classes locally. She is currently a student in an eighteen month Mindful Yoga and Meditation Training program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California.
Aging Gracefully with Yoga

We will use Yoga as a preventative practice to ward off the adverse affects of aging. This 7-week series will give you simple, practical tools and techniques from the Yogic Tradition that, combined with the latest discoveries about mind-body health, you can incorporate into your daily life. As a special bonus, each participant will be given a pose/series of poses designed to meet her individual needs.
Diane DeMars, Certified Yoga Teacher and Professional Wellness Coach, has been teaching yoga full time in Tacoma, Gig Harbor, and University Place for the past 16 years. She has experienced first-hand the benefits of yoga practice for the “Over 50” population and is pleased to introduce this yoga series designed specifically to deliver anti-aging benefits. We are living longer, and we have the opportunity to be the pioneers of living longer, better.

Angi Donovan has been practicing Meditation and Yoga since 2000 and teaching since 2004. She was first trained and certified through Radiant Health Yoga in Olympia, WA and has also completed the two year Immersion and Teacher Training program of Anusara Yoga in Seattle, WA. For her, yoga and meditation are all about creating balance, flexibility, and strength, and there is no better time for it than the holidays.
