As a community-oriented studio, we believe in giving to our communities in Tacoma and University Place, as well as other deserving organizations in the South Sound and the Pacific Northwest.
Community Classes
We offer a community class every Sunday evening, which makes yoga available to people of all income levels. (Please check the class schedule for more details). This will be held through the month of May 2012.
Global Mala
We participate in Global Mala for Peace every year, an event which unites the global yoga community in practices dedicated to the United Nations International Peace Day.
Holiday Giving
Every Thanksgiving, we offer pay-by-donation classes. Proceeds go to organizations such as Northwest Harvest and Tacoma Rescue Mission.
Samdhana Karana Yoga (SKY)
We support Samdhana Karana Yoga, a Tacoma yoga studio for students of all income levels and abilities. We support their outreach programs through a monthly cash donation, and we help to publicize their fundraising events.
Source Yoga Scholarship Fund
Proceeds from our Kirtan* classes go towards the Source Yoga Scholarship Fund. From this fund, we offer a New Member Special (2 months of unlimited yoga) to a community member whose name has been anonymously suggested to us.
*Suggested $5 donation/class, offered every 2nd Friday at the North Tacoma studio and every 4th Friday at the University Place studio.
